We take care of you
Safety is ensured with regular security patrols and a porter at the front desk 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A team of residence dons and on-call staff from the Dean of Students office provides additional support and supervision on the residential floors.
Meals
All students in St. Mike’s residences are signed up to an all-you-can-eat self-serve meal plan; there are no cooking facilities in any of the dorms.
Our dining halls in Brennan (“the Canada Room”) and Loretto cater to various dietary needs. They also offer bagged lunches and late dinners.
Food stations include:
- The Kitchen – Hearty entrees including vegetarian & halal
- Trattoria – Brick fired oven pizzas, pasta, and flatbreads
- The Grill – Grilled favourites, burgers, jerk chicken, BBQ ribs, and more
- Salad Bar – Stocked daily with a variety of seasonal ingredients
- Deli Station – Create your own subs and sandwiches
- Dessert Station – Delectable cakes, squares, brownies pies, and pastries
- My Pantry – Cook your own meals in the kitchen cooking station
How to apply
Residence is guaranteed for all new, full-time first-year students entering a post-secondary program.
To qualify:
- Apply through the StarRez Portal by March 31
- Accept your offer of admission by June 2
2024–25 fee range (including meal plans):
- Double room:
- 5-day plan: $18,215
- 7-day plan: $19,265
- Single room:
- 5-day plan: $19,163
- 7-day plan: $20,213
Fees exclude incidental charges for non-SMC students and residence council fees ($11/semester)
Summer residence
Students
To stay during the summer, you must commit to:
- Half-term:
- Term 1: May 5 – June 24
- Term 2: July 1 – August 17
- Full term: May 5 – August 17
We do not offer nightly or weekly rates.
External groups
We host school groups, language camps and conferences.

Meal plans are not required during the summer. Canada Room dining is available for individual meal purchases.

In-person tours
Join our Friday campus tours at 3:30 p.m., starting outside the Registrar’s Office in Brennan Hall. You’ll visit residence buildings, dining halls, lounges and the Kelly Café.
