Congratulations on your acceptance to St. Mike’s in the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto!

We’re here to welcome and support you as you prepare for this exciting new stage in your academic journey.

Beginning in May and once a month after that, we will email you a copy of our New Student Bulletin, where we answer common questions and share details about special informative events for incoming students. Be sure to check your email regularly!

You’ll also receive a link to participate in an online module (“SMC 101”) that contains all sorts of information about course enrolment, fees and financial aid, degree requirements, residence fees… and more!

We know that talking to people is the best way to ask questions and to start to feel at home in your new campus environment.

Our annual Welcome Day to all newly admitted students is Saturday, June 13th: we can’t wait to meet you!

How to Prepare for September 2026!

1. Accept your offer

Make sure to accept admission by the deadline stated on your offer letter.

2. Complete your residence application

If you’re planning to live in residence, secure your residence guarantee by completing your application on StarRez by March 31.

3. Look out for SMC’s New Student Bulletin

Starting in May, we’ll be emailing you a monthly bulletin that contains all sorts of useful information about deadlines, preparation – and information sessions that we’ve created to help you along the way.

4. Join SMC 101 on Quercus

You’ll be invited to join this online learning platform by email in May. It provides you with really useful information about course enrolment, university transition, and finances.

5. Join us at Welcome Day on June 13th!

We’ll be inviting you to register for a day of information, friendly welcome, and useful introduction to essential resources. Students (and parents!) always give us great feedback about Welcome Day.

6. Take note of these Key Resources

Arts & Science Academic Calendar: this is where you find information about all the programs and courses in the Faculty of Arts & Science.

Timetable Builder: this is the tool that helps you find out about when courses are taking place and how to create your schedule.

ACORN: this is the essential student portal through which you can enroll in courses, check fees, and access important info.

7. Participate in Arrive Ready

All incoming students will be invited to take place in this academic preparation program hosted by the Faculty of Arts & Science!

8. Plan your first-year academic experience

First-year students can meet new friends and gain essential skills in small, friendly learning environments. Take a look at the FYF and Ones courses offered by SMC and other colleges and departments! Think about joining a First-Year Learning Community (FLC)!

9. Enroll in courses

Course enrolment for first-year students opens mid-July. You’ll be given a start time, on ACORN, a few weeks earlier to know when you can access the portal.

10. Sign up for Orientation Week

We’ll be in touch soon with information about Orientation Week! Organized by the Principal’s Office in co-operation with the Registrar’s Office and student leaders, this week of activities allows you to meet new friends in a variety of settings, explore campus, and learn even more about how to prepare yourself for life in and out of the classroom at SMC and U of T!

11. Register with Accessibility Services

The  Accessibility Services Office assists students in navigating disability-related barriers to academic success at U of T for an ongoing or temporary disability. Learn more about Accessibility Services here.

12. Pay your fees on time

Make sure that you’ve paid your tuition and other fees by mid-August. If you miss the set deadline, you might face registration issues
