Orientation & peer mentorship

First-year experience and orientation

Students cheering at an orientation event

Starting with Welcome Day in June and continuing through to the end of your first year, we offer events and programs designed just for you.

Orientation is a week of fun, informative activities that help you make friends and get to know St. Mike’s. You’ll find both academic and social events, all designed to help you feel comfortable and prepared as you begin your undergraduate journey.

Orientation events take place in late August. You can participate as much or as little as you like—but we think you’ll want to attend everything!

Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging and excitement within our close-knit St. Mike’s community. Just as important, we connect you with the resources you’ll need for academic success. Complete this form to help us tailor Orientation to your needs. It only takes about 5 minutes to complete.

St. Mike’s Mentorship

As a first-year student, you’ll have the chance to join the St. Mike’s Mentorship Program. The program supports your transition to university life by pairing you with trained upper-year students who provide guidance and encouragement.

This year’s team includes two coordinators, six senior mentors, and 58 mentors from more than 15 countries, speaking over a dozen languages. We’re here to make your move to U of T as smooth, valuable, and welcoming as possible.
